What is Ragnarok Go?

Ragnarok Go is a pixel-art idle RPG officially licensed by Gravity and published by Gravity Game Vision (GGV). It rebuilds the Midgard of the 2002 PC classic — Prontera, Porings, Dead Branches, the same job tree — for a vertical phone screen, where combat, looting and map travel all run on autopilot.

The hook is that progress never stops. Characters keep earning EXP and gear while the app is closed, so a commute or a night's sleep turns into levels. Layered on top are the familiar job-change system, pet collection with passive bonuses, team raids against MVP bosses, and real-time chat that doubles as a party finder.

Ragnarok Go Beginner Guide

A first-session walkthrough that gets a brand-new account from install to its first job change without wasting the 4,000 free draws. It covers which banner to pull, when Auto Adventure unlocks, and how the 7-day login and 14-Day Growth Plan rewards stack on top of each other.

1Install from Google Play or the App Store and pick the SEA region tied to your account store — progress does not transfer between regional clients.
2Finish the tutorial before touching the gacha. Auto Adventure and offline EXP are locked until the opening quest chain ends.
3Spend the 4,000 newcomer draws on the weapon banner first, not the pet banner — gear carries you through the first twenty levels, pets do not.
4Claim the 7-day login track (Star Stones, Diamonds, Dead Branches) and the 10-day attendance Weapon Draw Coin before they reset.
5Start the 14-Day Growth Plan on day one. Event points convert into a limited costume, and the missions are all things you would do anyway.
6Trigger your first job change only after you have cleared the early solo challenge stages — the free respec window is short.

Ragnarok Go Tier List

Class rankings built around what actually matters in an idle RPG: how fast a class clears a screen while you are not looking. Mage sits on top because area skills like Blizzard and Fire Wall wipe whole spawn waves, which is what AFK EXP per hour is really measured in.

S Tier

Mage — area-of-effect kit (Blizzard, Fire Wall) clears spawn waves fastest, giving the highest offline EXP and loot per hour.

A Tier

Swordsman — highest raw survivability of the six jobs, carries early solo challenges and MVP boss attempts without gear support.

B Tier

Archer and Thief — strong single-target damage and safe ranged uptime, but noticeably slower at clearing packed screens unattended.

C Tier

Merchant and Acolyte — utility and support kits that shine in a team raid, but the slowest solo and AFK progression of the roster.

Ragnarok Go Classes

All six launch jobs — Swordsman, Mage, Archer, Thief, Merchant and Acolyte — with the role each one fills and what its job change unlocks. If you are picking a main before you commit gear, start here rather than in the tier list.

SwordsmanSwordsman — frontline melee with sword and shield, the default pick for anyone who wants to survive boss mechanics while learning them.
MageMage — ranged caster built on area skills; the fastest AFK farmer and the class most tier lists rank first.
ArcherArcher — ranged single-target damage with safe positioning, ideal for players who want to chip bosses from outside attack range.
ThiefThief — melee burst and critical builds, the highest skill-expression option once gear and skill levels catch up.
MerchantMerchant — buff and economy oriented kit that pays off in longer sessions and team content rather than raw damage.
AcolyteAcolyte — healing and support; mandatory in coordinated team dungeons, painful as a first solo character.

Ragnarok Go Idle Farming

The whole point of Ragnarok Go is that your character keeps earning while the app is closed. This guide covers how offline EXP is calculated, which stage to park on, and the order to claim rewards in so you do not lose capped progress on the way back in.

1Enable Auto Adventure from the main screen — it drives combat, looting and map travel with no input once the tutorial chain is finished.
2Farm the highest stage your character clears without dying; a stage you barely survive pays less per hour than one you sweep.
3Close the app completely. Offline mode keeps generating EXP and drops, which is the part that separates this from a normal mobile RPG.
4Claim offline rewards the moment you reopen — the pool accrues toward a cap, so long gaps are not automatically better than frequent check-ins.
5Push exactly one stage forward after each gear upgrade, then let it idle again; bouncing between stages wastes the offline timer.

Ragnarok Go Dungeons

Solo challenges, team dungeons and MVP boss raids all run on the same idle combat engine but ask for very different preparation. This page breaks down what each mode expects, where the Baphomet fight sits in the curve, and how to turn the in-game chat into a party that actually shows up.

Solo ChallengeSolo Challenge — the difficulty gate for your build; if a solo stage stalls, your gear is behind, not your class choice.
Team DungeonTeam Dungeon — party content where an Acolyte healer and a Merchant buffer stop being luxury picks and start being required.
Boss RaidsBoss raids — Baphomet is the headline MVP fight, and the class DPS tests the community runs are all benchmarked on it.
Party FinderReal-time chat doubles as the party finder; there is no separate matchmaking queue, so a message in world chat is the queue.

Ragnarok Go Review

An early review from launch week: the pixel art and offline progression are genuinely well done, the gacha and menu density are the friction points. Read this before you decide whether the 4,000 free draws are a welcome mat or a hook.

Pixel ArtThe pixel art does the heavy lifting — Prontera, Porings and the pirate skeletons are reproduced faithfully, with modern skill effects layered on top.
Offline ProgressionOffline progression is the strongest system: closing the app genuinely advances the character, which is rare in licensed mobile RPGs.
MonetisationMonetisation is the weak point — legendary pet summons lean hard on chance, and the in-app purchase menus crowd the screen after the opening levels.
Launch StateLaunch build is 1.0.0 on iOS and rated 4.75/5 from roughly 569 ratings in the Philippine store; expect balance patches through the first season.
